Separation Anxiety

So, um, you're not leaving are you??

My poor little guy is in the heart of a separation anxiety phase.  It has been so hard and stressful for us all, and I'm assuming all of these mothering/psychotic hormones flowing through my body makes things just that much worse.  It happens mainly when we take him too Katrina's and when someone watches him at our house and we leave.  He has gotten to the point where he really doesn't like to leave the house (so rare for him) and he knows when we pull into Katrina's neighborhood.  It is truly heartwrenching.  He gets so worked up, and when you hear him screaming "Mommy!" over and over again...well, it's really hard.  Why don't they ever scream for their dad anyway??  I must have had a pained look on my face Wednesday because Katrina told me that she promised that he was okay a few minutes after either Travis or I left.  She also regrettably informed me that we still had a good 2 or 3 months left of this, and she would know after watching so many kids.  So please, keep us (and my sanity) in your prayers!

This boy loves his animals!

Other than that, everything is well with us.  I am definitely getting bigger, but my weight gain is holding steady at right around 20 pounds.  I really just look like I have a basketball concealed under my shirt.  We ask Harry all of the time where baby brother is and he just shakes his head.  Hopefully that isn't a bad sign of things to come!  He was so interestd in babies just a few weeks ago.  Baby Meg had started at daycare and everytime he saw a baby he would point, smile and say "Baby!" over and over again.  Now the newness of Meg has worn off and he doesn't much care to check out babies anymore.  As long as he doesn't show signs of wanting to cause harm, I guess I can deal with some indifference.  Maybe that will make for an easier transition for us all.  He does, however, delight in balancing things on my belly so he may be a little sad when that is gone!

Our little ham!!

Cutest new words:  He tries really hard to say "Backyardigans" after his favorite cartoon, but it comes out like Back blah blah.  Too cute.  Also, after countlless times of counting just how many hippos are going berserk (Hippos Go Berserk! is one of his faves) we were reading another book and counting how many cookies there were on the page.  I started with "one.." and he said, "two, sree!!"  Progress is a beautiful thing!
