The Resident Wild Man!
There are not many days in the life of parenthood that you can say are effortless, especially when you have a one year old. Although I know I am extremely blessed by a very happy-go-lucky kid, it still is a lot of work to keep him happy and things running smoothly. Last Friday, I can easily exclaim, was one of the easiest days I have experienced during my first year as a mom. It started off with Harry sleeping in until 10 am! That was the first miracle of the day considering, well, when does that ever happen (??) and they are currently building a house next door to us along the same side that his nursery is on. He got up and dressed, had some breakfast, and we were off to eat lunch with Daddy. He wasn't too interested in eating since he had breakfast so late. After lunch, we were going to stop at Target for a few things, but Mr. Sleepyhead conked out in the car on the way back home. So, I decided to go to Target later and take him back home for his nap. I got him out of his carseat, up the stairs while taking his shoes and jacket off, and in his crib without waking him up. This was at 12:30pm. He didn't wake up until 3:45pm!! By the time he got up and had "lunch", Travis was home for the day! It was so wacky. I'll have to say, however, I was pretty lonely for that long stretch of time. I miss my wild man when he's not around!
I forgot to mention in my last post that Harry can stand up on his own without pulling up on something. It is a pretty cute sight to see...baby bum straight up in the air! He is trying out his speedwalking skills! I swear he can get around faster than I can at times! I also picked up our family/12 month picture proofs today...they turned out fabulous! I am going to have a hard time picking them out!

Enjoying a beautiful, sunny day!
I love my activity table!
To sort of counteract my above story of parental bliss, here's a good one for you. This morning after I got out of the shower, I took Harry into the nursery to change him and dress him for the day. His diaper was dirty and it was taking me a while to get him all cleaned up. I didn't know it, but he had gotten some poo on his hand. I saw it and grabbed a wipe to clean it off. Too late! My eyes traveled up to his cute as a button face only to see his forehead marred with a streak of poo across his forehead!! He was even rubbing his eyes and everything. I tried not to think of all the different kinds of bacteria that might be swimming around in there just looking for the right spot to start an infection. So it was off to the bath we went. Just lovely!! I still love him dearly, poo head and all!!
The kids at daycare made Mother's Day cupcakes!
