So Much to Say!

We have had such a crazy week so we have lots of news to share! First of all, we would like to announce the arrival of our new nephew and Harry's cousin, Aiden George! He was born at 6:20pm on Tuesday 11/14. He weighed 8lbs 10 oz and was 22 inches long--but still looks really tiny! He is so cute! George thinks he is the spitting image of Audra when she was a baby and Audra thinks he looks like her dad. Either way, we are excited that he is here and elated that he is healthy!

All Better!
No Fair! What's Mommy doing?
That is Harry upset that I'm holding the baby! Hopefully he won't stay jealous for long!
Now onto some news about Harry. It appears that we have a little daredevil on our hands! He somehow managed to fall out of his crib Monday night and scared Travis and I half to death! He was perfectly fine and stopped crying as soon as I picked him up. I guess he really wasn't ready to go to bed! We still aren't sure how he did it. I hadn't seen him pull up on anything until later in the week, but even if that's the case he would have had to pull up on the railing pretty high. Regardless, he did it so his crib matress was lowered that very night. No other base jumping attempts have been made to my knowledge. We felt like such losers as parents. We had been talking about lowering the matress since he could get up on all fours but just hadn't done it yet. I guess this will just have to be a lesson to us...kids are capable of much more than you think!
Speaking of pulling up on things, Harry decided to show me after the whole crib fiasco that he is in fact trying to pull up on things. He mostly tries to do it on his tent door. I have seen him almost getting to a standing postion (carefully monitored of course!!). I also spied him sitting up from a laying position. I saw him do this on Friday and it was like he was a changed baby overnight! He turned seven months old that day so he started the second half of his first year with a bang!! He was babbling almost the whole day instead of just occasionally and even that sounded different to me. He was making sounds other than da-da and changing the pitch of his voice. Coupled with him pulling up on things and getting to a sitting position unassisted, I was like, who is this kid!!?? It is kind of hard seeing all of these changes in him because it is going by so fast, but at the same time I am really happy that he is developing so well. He's probably on the track to be a genius, right??
Harry started going to his new daycare this week after Jamie decided to go off and get a job on us (sniff, sniff!). Her name is Katrina and she runs it out of her home. She seems really nice and I think it will work out really well. He went on Monday and Thursday and he got a good report both days. I think Thursday was a little overwhelming for him...all of the kids she watched were there and some of them had never seen him before. They were really excited and all up in his face all day, so he was really tired by the time he got home even though he took a 1 1/2 hour nap that day. Why does he never do that for me?? Anyway, all the kids that go there seem really sweet and cute. I think he will have a blast there once he's a little older and can play more with them.
Solid food eating is still going really well and he has built up quite a selection of food he can eat. So far he eats squash, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, applesauce, peaches, bananas, sweet potatoes with corn, carrots, and oatmeal. He eats all of them pretty well but the favorite is probably still the bananas. He is so cute at meal time...he usually sits there like a little bird with his mouth open for the next bite!
One last cute story about Harry...as I said before he has become quite the talker, but the only thing he says on a regular basis is da-da. I have been trying to associate that with Travis so he can figure out that da-da actually means something. When he says it I usually say, Yeah, Dada's at work or something to that effect. The other day he looked at me and said Da-da! I replied No, I'm Mama...Dada's at work. He paused for a moment like he was processing what I was saying and then belted out a big DA-DA with a huge grin on his face. Trying to reason with this kid will probably be a losing battle for the rest of my life! That's okay...as long as he stays so cute he can call me whatever he wants!
