Happy 5 month birthday, sweet baby boy!  Your big brother often steals the show when it comes to blog posts (or in every day life in general!) so we are just going to focus on you right now.  Every time I think about it which is a lot, I thank God for blessing us with your life.  You were the perfect addition to our family and we adore you so much.  I can't believe how much you have changed from that night 5 months ago...from a sleepy, cute little blob to a bright-eyed, sweet, full of life baby boy.  Although I don't want you to grow up to fast, I'm excited to see your little personality come out little by little every day.  We love you, Little Peanut!

Crazy Eights

In my opinion, this has to be the coolest, numerically speaking, day of the year.  If Harry could understand the concept of dates now, today would blow his little mind!  He is still obsessed with numbers, letters, and putting things in order.  He may be my little Purdue engineer yet!  Today at lunch,  I gave him some graham crackers broken into chunks and some apple chunks.  He decided he needed to line the crackers up side by side in a perfect row, count them, then place an apple piece on top of the cracker--exactly the same on each cracker and then count them too.  Too funny--I hope this attitude of precision continues to carry on when he is old enough to clean his room and help with chores!

I know I say this just about every post, his speech issue is practically non existent at this point (in my unprofessional opinion!).  The difference in him from June to now is completely staggering!  Yesterday morning after he got up, he walked into our bedroom and said "Where did Daddy go?"  Wow...in less than 2 months he goes from barely stringing 2 words together to asking a question in a full sentence.  Unfortunately, I think this has very little to do with the therapy and that he was just ready to do it.  He has always been one to do things on his own terms, and this is just another example.  I don't want to pull the plug on it just yet, but if he continues to improve by leaps and bounds, I can't imagine them coming up with a reason to keep him in.

Now on to our sweet little Elliot...it is almost cruel how extremely fast babies grow up on you!  His two bottom teeth have completely popped through the gums, so now his sweet little gummy grin has forever changed!  Now it's a sweet toothy, but mostly gummy grin!  He is now squarely in my favorite baby stage when they are mostly so happy and pleasant and easy to entertain.  He also stays put, which is another bonus!!  Like his brother, he has a flair for the dramatics.  On the rare occasions that he does cry, there is very little warning and it usually proceeds directly to a scream or screech that really gets his point across!  He eats a decent helping of rice cereal every night (when I remember--I forgot the last 2 nights.  How do you forget to feed your child??) really well and if he wakes up at night, it's only once.  Right now, he thinks we are all hilarious and we think he is pretty special too.  If only we could warn him about his future of being Harry's partner in crime...
