Super Bowl Bound, Baby!

Go Colts!!

So our Colts have made it to the big game, finally! Travis and I went to the game and I have to say it was probably the most exciting, best game we have ever attended!! The fact that it ended in our favor made it even that much better!! Mom came over to watch Harry while we went and the poor lady probably didn't get home until 12:30 in the morning! Here are some more photos of Harry celebrating our victory!! He says...please, someone take me to Miami!!

We're Number One!!

Okay, so in the #1 picture, that's not really what he's doing. I was taking advantage of this really cute pointing thing he's been doing. He had been pointing at random things, but on Tuesday when I came from work he pointed at me!! Now he points at me whenever I come to get him out of his crib in the morning and at other times throughout the day. It is so cute! It kinda makes up for the fact that he won't say Mama yet! He seems like he has changed so much this week. He has been pointing, waving and chatting up a storm! Travis even taught him to say something that resembles "Hi Dada!" and "red" this week. I swear he is also trying to say Oscar. This kid kills me with his adorableness!!

The sleeping thing has been sooo much better! Some nights he has been sleeping all the way through and some nights he gets up at 4 and goes right back to sleep. I'm wondering now if he wasn't really sick. Jen said the boys had a runny nose with no other symptoms besides not sleeping well and they ended up having ear infections. So maybe that was it, but I am veeeery thankful that we are through it and well rested!!!

Speaking of the Strawhackers, we went out to lunch with them today and went over to their house to play afterwards. Both the Mommies and babies had so much fun! I bet we were quite the sight at the restaurant...the highchairs outnumbered the adult chairs at our table! The boys interacted with each other a lot more than they ever have before. I hope they grow up to be best buddies!! Harry says thank you for letting him hang out in the ball pit for so long!

Tonight, Granny, Jamie, Payton, and Janson are coming over to check out the house and go out to eat. Harry will be so excited to see them! He was used to spending so much time with them when Jamie used to watch him. I have to work this weekend which is kind of a bummer, but we have good news on that front too! We found another pharmacist who is going to start in mid-February! I am so excited to be able to have more weekends off and to spend more time with my little guy!

Nine Months Old!

Our Sweet Boy

Mr. Harry turned nine months old on Wednesday. It's funny to look back on things...when I was pregnant with him, nine months seemed like an ETERNITY!! It is truly amazing to think what such a short period of time can accomplish. They start from one cell and grow to be 7 lb 10 oz amazing baby in the first nine, and then continue to grow by leaps and bounds to be a 20 pound, crawling, babbling, into everything, thriving, crazy little boy. And believe me, for that, we are unmeasurably grateful. Well, maybe not for the into everything, crazy part, but we love him to pieces anyway!

This past week has been somewhat of a challenge for us. Remember my post last week about how well Harry was sleeping and I felt oh so great?? As I feared, those moments definintely passed us by! True to Harry form, we have been up and down all night since last Friday night. I know it is just part of having a baby and I need to get a grip on that. I just suffer from horrendous Mommy guilt because I know I can't give him my all when I get home because I am so worn out from getting up early and working all day. To top it all off, Travis had to work late on Monday and Tuesday so it was just me and Bub on our own for those 2 nights. I'll save you all the gory details and sum it up by saying I was on the verge of having a cow. I just so wish that Harry shared his parents' love of sleeping through the night. I'm still keeping the faith that it will happen sometime, like probably when he's a teenager and fights us to get up for school and stuff. But it will happen, I'm convinced!

Yesterday we had a pretty good day. I was off (yay!) so we went to have lunch with Travis. Harry was adorable at lunch. They were playing The Beatles song Love Me Do and I started singing it to him. We were beating the table having a good time and he started shaking his head no no! I had never seen him do that before! I started doing it back to him which made him laugh and he did it back to me. So cute! Then when we got home and let the dogs out. When they came back in and attacked him as usual he started moving his tongue in and out like the dogs do when the lick! We had noticed him doing that before but I thought that he had just figured out that he could stick his tongue out. I was cracking up! Then Travis came home a few hours early and we went over to Muncie to get Harry's birth certificate (don't ask me why I had not done this before!! I don't have a good excuse.) and got the oil changed in our Odyssey. I know, that part doesn't sound like fun but it was good to spend some time together. I was a bit starved for some family time.

Speaking of the dogs, I think Harry is really starting to have so much fun with them. He gets beside himself when they chase him. He loves for anyone to chase him but when Oscar and Callie do it, it's especially funny! It also totally cracks him up when they fight and chase each other. He also tries to "pet" them which usually involves one or both of them nearly getting injured with clumsy baby fingers and hands. For the most part, they are both really good with him. I know they get annoyed with him sometimes, mostly when he pulls their hair or tries to get in their food. But they love to shower him with puppy kisses and he gladly receives them for a second until Travis and I break it up.

One last funny story about Harry...he is becoming a little biter! He tries to bite things (unfortunately, usually me!) out of frustration. The other night Travis was preventing him from getting into the fireplace which made him mad, so he crawled over to me and tried to bite my leg! I saw him coming so I stopped him so then he grabbed Oscar's fur instead! Last night he was trying to stand up by the TV and bang on the screen. When Travis stopped him from doing that, he crawled over to me. I thought he was just getting tired and cranky and needed a hug. So I scooped him up and promply got bit on the shoulder! He only does it when he is tired for the most part. He also cops this little attitude that I try not to laugh at, but it is pretty funny. Poor little kid, he actually thinks he can overtake his Mom and Dad. Ha! Oh wait, he usually can. Darn! The cuteness factor usually prevails!

Sleep, Precious Sleep

I am taking the rare opportunity of an afternoon Harry nap to blog! This is one of the few times I have gotten Harry to sleep in his crib in the middle of the day! Hooray!! We even made it through the garbage truck going by and the dogs barking at it! As a matter of fact, sleeping the past few nights have gone tremendously well. Tuesday and Wednesday night he slept the WHOLE NIGHT and last night he made it until 6am, then he ate and slept until 8:30! I can't put into words how happy this makes me and how much better I feel! We'll see how this holds up this weekend when I have to go in early. It's a good thing this came when it did. Tuesday afternoon was probably one of the most trying days I have had with Harry ever. I got home from work at about 2pm. I was tired, he was exausted. Good time to take a nap, right?? Wrong. He would have none of it! It was so hard...I can take care of him just fine when I am tired (I'm used to that!) but when he is cranky it is a different story. I was so thankful when Trav got home from work. I kind of passed him off for a while so I could get my bearings again. Then he fell and cut his lip on a toy and I was back in Mommy mode again. Sigh. Then he went and made it all better by letting us sleep for a whole night. I love my kid.

All of that and I'm helpful too!!

Last week we had all kinds of fun playing with Andrew and Noah! Well, I don't know how much fun they had, but Harry had a blast playing with all of their toys! The funniest moment was when I pulled out a container of Puffs and the three of them were going at it trying to get to them! It was so funny...poor Harry didn't stand much of a chance but he managed to get a few pieces! It was pretty cool though, he used the boys to get his balance and actually stood on his own for a few seconds! His balance has been getting much better this past week. Oh lord--he wears me out with all of the crawling. I can't imagine what it will be like when he is walking around!!

Funny Faces

Harry got to spend some time with Uncle Chris and Esther last Saturday while Travis and I went to the game. I think they had a lot of fun! They even ordered a pizza while we were gone and saved the leftovers for us! Free babysitting, free dinner, hmmm....I think I may invite them over every weekend! Sunday we finally got together with the Blessinger's to exchange Christmas presents. Morley and Collin are both getting so big! Morley is sooo sweet, I wish we got to see all of them more! She is sitting up now and she will be crawling before we know it! Karen made us some yummy lasagna to boot. Gosh, I'm starting to feel like a mooch from all of this free food! We had such a great time!

Harry is starting to wave! He did it for the first time the other day when I was feeding him in his highchair! It was so cute...I wasn't even waving at him, he just did it! He now mimics us when we do it to him. Travis said he even waved at one of the dogs last night. So cute!! He has also come down with a little bit of a cold, just a runny nose, some congestion, and his voice is a little raspy. I think we are just going to take it easy this weekend and try to get a little rest so it doesn't turn into anything worse.

I LOVE my Fridge Farm!

...and my new shoes!!

Is It 2007 Already??

Getting into trouble!!

I confess...it has been so long since I last posted! I have been busy doing not fun stuff. I just finished a 6 day stretch of work, which I know, doesn't sound like a lot. I think it just felt harder since I worked over New Years Weekend and I missed out on Travis's 3 day weekend. It's over now, and now I get MY 3 day weekend! Yay!

There is not a whole lot new going on with Harry. I guess the main thing going on with him lately is that he seems to be developing a real sense of independence. He wants to do what he wants to do and gets really mad when you try to stop him! A lot of times when he is crawling toward danger and you go to pick him up, he screams! Very loud! It's pretty funny except when you are very tired as I have been the past few days. In fact, I think that has been a contributing factor in my not posting very much lately because he is so all over the place he must be watched with an eagle eye! He has also decided he does not like wearing a bib. Meal times have become a little harder because he is constantly trying to rib his bib off! I hope he is just curious about them and as soon as that wears off he'll leave them alone! I guess the poor kid will just have to deal with some baby food stained clothes for a while!

That's not how you're supposed to play with that, silly!

We had pretty much the most lame New Year's Eve ever! I had to be at work the next morning at 7 which means I have to get up about 5 so I was not at all interested in staying up for the ball drop. I went to be about 10 or so and poor Travis was going to stay up by himself and watch the festivities. However, he was so tired from watching Harry all weekend that he fell asleep on the couch and missed the whole thing! I think is was kind of symbolic of the year...we had so many crazy (but awesome!) things happen. Remodeled a home, had a kid, got a new car, decided to sell the house we had remodeled, moved to a new home. We are just plain worn out! Our main resolution for 2007 is to be a little more low key! No more major lifestyle changes for a while!! We have already decided to make good on one of our resolutions...we are going on vacation in April to Sanibel Island in Florida! I have not been on what I would call a real vacation since our honeymoon 2 1/2 years ago so I am ready! Little Harry will spend his first birthday on the beach. How awesome is that??
