Movin' On Up!

Hey, come visit me!!

I realized yesterday that I have been seriously negligent on taking pictures of my poor son and updating our blog! We have been very, very busy moving. Yuck!! We are almost all in our new home. We have a lot of unpacking left to do and cleaning up to do at our old house. It seems like a never ending process! We are so lucky to have such a good boy...poor Harry has spent countless hours in the car going back and forth from both houses, spent hours up past his bedtime, and done without as much attention while Mommy and Daddy are busy doing other things. He has been such a trooper! It will all be worth it once we get all settled in!

Please pay attention to me!!

Harry has passed the 5 month mark since my last update! It is so crazy to think it has been that long! He is now able to sit up, sometimes without assistance and sometimes he needs a little help. When he gets really excited he forgets to keep his balance and flops over. He is rolling over in both directions and is showing some early signs of crawling too! He can tuck his knees under his bottom, but I don't think he's quite strong enough to get up on all fours. He is starting to pick up everything and can almost hold his own bottle. He is starting to laugh and cut up more too...one thing that really sets him off is when Travis talks to him in a deep, scary voice! I thought it would make him cry but for some reason it totally cracks him up! It is so amazing to watch him change and do different things on a daily basis!! Of course, I can't forget the most important milestone...the teeth! I finally got a good picture to show everyone!

I'm gonna getcha!!

Since his 2 bottom teeth have come in, he plays with his tongue all of the time and touches his teeth with it. It makes it really difficult for me to get a good picture of him without getting "The Look"!! These are a few of many!

I Have Two Teeth!

...but I'm not gonna show ya!

A couple of days shy of his 5th month milestone, Mr. Harry has sprouted not one, but 2 teeth! I finally saw and felt a white sliver yesterday morning and upon closer inspection there was a second! They are the 2 bottom middle teeth. I tried my best to get a picture with no luck. Maybe once they grow out of the gum a little more we can get a good shot. Poor little guy was up half the night, I think he was just so uncomfortable. He is coming dangerously close to surpassing the number of teeth Uncle Chris has! Sorry Chris...I couldn't resist!!!

We finally closed on our house this morning. Soon after we got home, someone pulled up and slapped a SOLD sign on it. Yes! I will miss this house in some ways...this is the first home Travis and I bought together, almost completely remodeled, and my little son's first home. We will have such good memories of our time spent here. With fall almost here, I'm getting excited about all of the things that are coming up--more of Harry's milestones, his first holiday season, a brand-new home to live in, and to top it all off, a new nephew to love to pieces. I feel like we are starting yet another chapter in our lives, and I couldn't be happier about it!!

Getting so much better at Tummy Time!

Grumpy Kid

I'm mad!!

We have had another wild, crazy week with all of our house stuff, and this has been further complicated by our grumpy child!! It really all started this past weekend. Harry just seemed all out of sorts...lots of crying, not enjoying car rides, just overall not himself. I was kind of worried and I kept thinking to myself, do kids get attitudes this early?? However he has been a lot better this week so I'm thinking maybe he wasn't getting enough sleep with us being so busy or he is most likely teething which I'm sure hurts him a lot. I do sympathize, but I sure would like to have my old son back!! Speaking of this weekend, Nana and Poppy were in town for their class reunion so we spent a lot of time with them, we went over to see the progress on our new house, and Travis and I started packing up our belongings. It is so hard to believe we will have a new home in a little over a week!! We can't wait!

So stylin'

This photo is from last week when we went to go eat dinner with Travis. These overalls are soooo cute, but unfortunately this is the last time he will wear them. He got a little too tall for them!!

Um, Mom, I'm a little bit too busy to talk.

Harry is still loving the Exersaucer. He loves all of the toys in it...I guess I should say he loves putting all of the toys in his mouth. Which brings me to Harry's new favorite activity--grabbing things! He is now reaching out for everything he can get his hands on--hair, jewlery, toys, glasses, noses, lips, ears, dogs, cats. Basically whatever comes into his path! It amazes me how strong little babies can be!! He has inflicted great pain on me and everyone else who has held him this past week! I know this is a huge developmental step for him, but I can't wait until he can understand what the word "gentle" means!!

Ha! I got it!

He can also be very stealth-like with his grabbing technique. I was changing him this morning and he picked up this puppy that was laying behind him and I didn't even see him trying to do it until he had it in his hands.

This is officially the funniest place Harry has fallen asleep (besides the Exersaucer). We got home after running errands yesterday, and I had to use the bathroom so bad I just plopped him on the floor for a minute. When I got back, he was already asleep. I think it is so cute how he had his little foot and hand on the chair. Don't worry--I only left him there long enough to take a picture (or 2)!!

No, Mommy, don't tickle me!!

Funny Face

One last thing, I forgot to mention that Harry is super close to laughing! I can usually get him going with tickling him. He mostly shrieks, but occasionally he will string a few huh huhs together!
